Very few people in the history of America have had such an impact of the lives of regular, individual people.  Billy Graham is one of those rare people.  He preached and tought the Gospel from the White House to the streets.  I know in this house, we still watch old re-runs of his crusades - with the many of thousands of people coming to give their life to Jesus.  It’s still inspiring, and his life and message are still just as important today as they were in the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and the years that followed.  In short, Billy Graham has changed and touched people’s lives in a very real way.

So it was refreshing to learn about a new project by Pat Boone entitled, “Thank You Billy Graham“.  Pat Boone is an artist that most of our readers at NashvilleHype! wouldn’t know or remember, because it was a very long time ago the last time Pat Boone had a hit - he was a HUGE star.  But with his new project, I hope he has another.

Pat has assembled a great roster of artist to contribute to this special project.  Grammy® award-winning producer/writer David Pack (Ambrosia) and country star Billy Dean, collaborated to write and record this heartfelt song that chronicles the life and ministry of Reverend Billy Graham. Lisa Bevill, Bono, Tony Brown, John Ford Coley, Andrae Crouch, Charlie Daniels, Destiny’s Child, John Elefante, Vestal Goodman, Faith Hill, Mark Kibble, Larry King, Kevin Max, Amy McDonald, Michael McDonald, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, MxPx, Jeffrey Osborne, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Rogers, Connie Smith, George Strait, James Stroud, Marty Stuart, Michael Tait, tobyMac… and many, many more!

This is really remarkable, and a great tribute to a man who’s real tribute lies in the lives he helped touch and change.
