THIS is the reason we here at NashvilleHype! really believe it’s only a matter of time before Rachel Farley makes her move. This is her new video. Featuring the Grammy winning song, “I Knew You When“ (written by Jayne Olderman and Darren Rogers) and directed by Glenn Sweitzer of Fresh Design+film, this video is not only Rachel’s first professional video, it also has a very special shoot location - The Ryman. Yes, THAT Ryman. Though you can’t see the rest of the stage (their policy forbids it), she is actually performing in the hallowed circle. Quite amazing, and I’m sure an amazing experience.
Rachel has been singing regularly at Swallow in the Hollow - which is the equivilent of Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe. - and not simply as an “open-mic’r” — she’s actually ‘billed’ talent, the envy of many. In fact, most of the writers and artist that play the Bluebird, also make sure to stop at the Hollow and play as well.
Behind the scenes things continue to roll along for her as well. I can’t really say what all is going on at the moment, but suffice to say, it involves the largest names in the industry - and it involves their active interest in Rachel.
Again, this video will show you why.
And as to the “age thing” - yeah, I suppose it’s important in some ways still - but only to blow people’s minds and show what real talent at a young age looks like. So I’m not going to point out once again that she’s only 13 years old. She’s just talented, and has so much going on - no matter her age.
