Stormy Montana ( http://stormymontana.com ) is proud to announce the release of her new music video for her song “Weary Angel”. Coming off the heels of the highly successful video launch for “Sing This City Home”, which has already had over 4,000 views in only 2 months, “Weary Angel” continues Stormy’s work with celebrated director Marcel. Stormy says, “We had such a good time working together on Sing This City Home that when we were discussing this video and who we should get to direct, there wasn’t any question. It had to be Marcel.”

The video takes viewers on a journey as seen through the eyes of an older artist (played by 85 year old Doris Freeman a.k.a. Cousin Tuny), and that of an up and coming artist (Stormy). “Though country music is constantly evolving, we should never forget those artist who came before us. It was a real honor having a real life living legend like Tuny be in this video with me.” Stormy says, “Her scenes really have an emotional punch and set the tone for what we hoped to accomplish.”

About Stormy Montana: At just 16 years old, Stormy Montana (real name) has proven to have one of the largest and most dedicated fan bases in all of country music. She doesn’t attribute this simply to her age, but to the music itself, which is grounded in the best traditions of country music, with an eye towards the more accessible pop country of today’s generation. Stormy began singing live in bars and honky-tonks at 9 years old and hasn’t stopped since. Her love of music and performing is evident by the fact her mother never had to push her to sing and perform, it’s simply what she wanted to do. Teaming with renound vocal coach Teresa Smith, and surrounding herself with a great team of Nashville insiders and music professionals, Stormy set sail on her life’s calling. The culmination of these early years of hard work can be heard on her new C.D. “Someone Like Me” which has already sold nearly 7,500 physical copies. For more information please visit http://stormymontana.com

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE!! The two baddest and rocking guys in Country Music, Crisp & Davis, are coming back to Nashville for a special performance at the Hard Rock in downtown Nashville. The show takes place Feb. 23rd starting at 9pm. Also on the bill that evening is songwriter extraordinaire and performer Anthony Smith.

Crisp & Davis will be familiar to readers of NashvilleHype! as they have been featured artists for many years and we’ve been championing them to everyone we know and meet. It’s been a slow road, but thanks to great songs like ‘Coal Dust’, ‘Hicks in the Sticks’, and ‘Gettin Tired’ and crowds in their hometown that can easily approach 4,000 fans, finally the guys are getting the recognition they’ve long deserved and serious people are paying serious attention.

Be sure to catch this show if you can make it – I guarantee it’s going to rock.

You may remember Ashlee Hewitt from her stint on Nashville Star. She’s also been a Nashville Hype! artist. Because of her being on NH, I’ve gotten to know her and her family pretty well and consider them to be personal friends. Ashlee’s sister Lacey left for Haiti back in August ‘09 to care for orphan babies at a place called Ruuska Village. This orphanage is within Port-a-Prince, and as we all know, they suffered a tremendous earthquake that killed upwards of 230,000 people. Fortunately and by the grace of God, no one in the village, children included, were killed that day. They did however sustain numerous injuries and several of their buildings collapsed, as well as their safety walls surrounding the village.

In the days after the earthquake, more and more orphaned children showed up at the village, and though the staff is very small, they now watch upwards of 50 babies.

I know that we’ve been inundated to give money for Haiti. And I know that millions and millions have been raised to help that country. But places like Ruuska Village are not benefiting from that good will and they need our help. They are trying their best to stay afloat and rebuild.

A doctor in Florida has said that he will match, up to $100,000 dollars, the amount they raise themselves by THIS Saturday – which is two days away. This doctor chooses a benefactor each year and Reach Out To Haiti (the official non-profit of Ruuska Village) was his choice this year. Unfortunately, we have little time.

So I’m asking you to place the Chip In widget on your blog or let others in your social circle know – and talk about Ruuska Village and what they are doing and how others can really help. FOR TWO DAYS ONLY – FRIDAY and SATURDAY. Lacey simply needs all the help she can get.

Below are a couple of links that you may find interesting should you choose to do an article on your own blog or participate in your social network. And if you do, please let me know because I will forever be grateful.

Nashville Hype! is proud to be featured on the pages of Nashville Music Buzz this month. Nashville Music Buzz is a new site that picks up where NashvilleHype! (the blog) left off. It’s an excellent website headed by songwriting vet and recent Nashville transplant Debra Gordon. The goal with Nashville Music Buzz is to be a place where you can:

learn about music industry trends

be introduced to up and coming artists

hear wisdom from veterans

read inspiring stories that encourage perseverance

be opened up to best practices for networking

learn tips for songwriting

brush up on local music venues

hear recaps of local music events

plus more!!!!

The first in a series of articles on Nashville Hype! is “HELP… I Didn’t Sign Up For All Of This” which talks about how much trouble an artist can find themselves in when they make that move to Nashville and find they don’t have the support they used to have back in their home towns.

Following this is a two part interview series with Nashville Hype! founder Paul King. Here Paul talks about the motivation for starting Nashville Hype!, the artist he works with, and what PR can do for an artist who’s not yet achieved notable mainstream success.

Part 1 of the interview is HERE. Part 2 can be found HERE.

There’s a lot that can be said about Stormy Montana – she’s smart, talented, and hard working – but what she’s not is adept at driving. Bear in mind, it’s not her fault. Like any 16 year old, she’d like to be, but considering her busy schedule, she just hasn’t had time to take a Driver’s Ed class (and her mother simply isn’t THAT brave). So when she shot her video for “Sing This City Home” off her Someone Like Me CD, her insistence that her 1969 GMC pickup be an intregal part of the video made everyone a little nervous.

Things turned out pretty well considering before the video shoot Stormy had never, not even once, been behind the wheel of a vehicle. She’d never drove at all. In fact, when they went to pick up the truck from the mechanic, they weren’t even sure if the truck would even be drivable. But the mechanic did a fantastic job (much to everyone’s consternation) and got it up and running like, well, a fine oiled machine.

And so on that winter day that felt more like that of late spring, Stormy Montana got to drive. No one said she did badly. After all, no one was killed, the Keg building still stands, and all the animals remained safe – but as you will see in these outtakes, she didn’t exactly always get it right. As she says, “it was all going so well…”

After all that, the video turned out fantastic as you can see below:

To coincide with Stormy’s first appearance in Country Weekly, she’s proud to release the official video for “Sing This City Home”. Filmed in her hometown of Dresden, TN and neighboring Fulton, KY, the video features numerous friends and family members. Stormy says, “It was fun getting the crowd to come down to The Keg for this video shoot. This area has offered me so much support over the years and, like all small towns, all we did was tell a few people we’d be shooting and my supporters showed up in droves!”.

Directed by Marcel, the video takes you on a journey of small town America; where people work the land, cruise the town square, pack the local tavern, gather around to play music, and returning Soldiers are welcomed with open arms. ”I really wanted this to be a realistic take on what happens every day in a small town like this. You know, when Cole McCraw (the soldier) walked in the door, that reaction was authentic. He told me afterwards he wished everyone felt the way about returning soldiers that we did. He was so touched, and we were all about in tears.”

Until Jan. 11th you can get your free copy of “Sing This City Home” by visiting Country Weekly.

Mary has a voice that sounds like a young Lee Ann Womack, and yet, stands completely on it’s own. She’s just fantastic. Her CD “Wild Blue Country” has already been released on all the music sites including iTunes, Amazon, and Rhapsody.
