NASHVILLE, TN (August 20, 2010) — Mary Elizabeth Murphy will be a featured performer at several showcases taking place in Nashville on Labor Day weekend, September 4th and 5th presented by Sweet Southern Entertainment. Mary will be performing several songs from her cd “Wild Blue Country” cd at two different locations that weekend. Her first appearance will be Saturday September 4th at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville. This performance starts at 1:00 pm. The second appearance will also be at the Hard Rock Cafe and will take place the following day, Sunday September 5th at 2:15 pm. Following that performance, she will head over to the Nashville Palace where she’ll perform in the Mike Jennings’ Nashville Spotlight Showcase starting shortly after 8 pm.

This appearance caps a busy year for Mary which saw her performing for DuVita, LLC and the Herd Racing Team, Buffalo Wild Wings Superbowl Show, during the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival, and receiving national attention for her participation in the Colgate Country Showdown. Her unique voice and stand out personal style has helped her gain tremendous popularity in and around west Tennessee this year. This marks a rare live appearance for Mary in Nashville.

Competition To Take Place July 24th, 2010

NASHVILLE, TN (July 19, 2010) – West Tennessee rising country artist Mary Elizabeth Murphy has gained national attention as the Colgate Country Showdown’s “Featured Artist Of The Week”.   Mary entered the Showdown in Covington, TN and is excited to be able to perform for the friends, fans, and staff of US51 Country radio station in the competition. The Colgate Country Showdown has thousands of artist participants and the website received thousands more hits each week. Mary states, “Just being selected to perform in a national competition like this is a huge honor, win lose or draw. But to be the featured artist for the week is just amazing! It’s like I’ve already won, so it just takes any stress I might have had in the competition away. Mary and the other contestants will compete Saturday July 24th and the winner of that event will move on to the state round of the competition.

This marks the 73rd time this annual celebration and parade has taken place. This years festival will feature a very special guest, Mary Elizabeth Murphy. NASHVILLE, TN (April 27, 2010) — Stormy Montana performed as the featured entertainment at The Palm Restaurant, Downtown Nashville, as they played host to an exclusive birthday party for esteemed Nashville attorney Jon Peeler.  The event served a duel purpose of raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. In attendance were several celebrated members of the Nashville community, including Rob Bironas and Blaine Bishop of the Tennessee Titans Football team, Buddy Cannon, producer to such artist as Kenny Chesney and Reba McEntire, and Angela Fox of the St. Jude’s Children’s Research organization.  Stormy says, “Its always an honor to be asked to come play for a good friend like Jon, and in this case two friends, as I really admire and support the work of St. Jude’s in their ongoing research as well as their treatment programs supporting children stricken with cancer and their families.”

Mary Elizabeth Murphy for a performance at their car showing and autograph event yesterday.  Mary was a definite hit with the crowd gathered at the event.  Brett Rowe, driver of the #75 Herd Racing car commenting she was “well on her way to becoming a household name”.  DuVita, LLC, the sponsor of the car and yesterday’s event stated that Mary was a “cut above even the contestants on American Idol” and she “had a very bright future ahead of her in music”.

Mary signed autographs and took pictures with many in the crowd and enjoyed the hospitality of the Ponderosa Steakhouse and their staff.  Mary says, “I had a wonderful time being there with every one!  Brett Rowe is the most gracious race car driver in the world, the staff of DuVita, LLC couldn’t have been nicer and the Ponderosa Steakhouse did a fantastic job as host.”

Though I can’t divulge the details of the site just yet, my reputation here in Nashville is stellar – both personally and professionally. As a songwriter myself I’ve had to work very hard to gain the reputation I have. Featured in video: Cousin Tuny. Tuny (Doris Freeman) is a much beloved character, well known for her children’s show,for her years of work in numerous charity functions. Tuny was a close friend of Minnie Pearl and a regular at the Opry and the old circuit shows the Opry stars of her day did. While her friends pleaded with Tuny to make the move to Nashville as they had, she chose to stay in Jackson and work as a community leader in her home area of Jackson, TN. At 85, Tuny is still very active in the Jackson area.

John Goodwin: John Goodwin is a part of the Nashville landscape. A well known writer, John is also known for his artwork which is featured in numerous studios around Nashville. His latest recognition comes from his song featured in the hit movie Crazy Heart starring his childhood best friend, Jeff Bridges.
