Clay Cumbie is different. What seperates Clay from many songwriters in Nashville is, Clay writes for the newly established Big Loud Shirt Industries. Big Loud Shirt was founded by notorious hit songwriter Craig Wiseman, and not just anyone can write for Craig.
We spoke with Clay recently and there’s something else that sets Clay apart from so many writers we know or have met. Clay is still as wide-eyed as the day he arrived in Nashville four years ago. Older and wiser, but still eager, you can hear the excitement in what he says. He carries his background in competitive sports with him as he works to take advantage of the opportunities that have been presented to him. Clay Cumbie is going to have a great career.

Ryan Tyndell

Ryan Tyndell, the lead singer and primary songwriter of the band that carries his name, is easy going, laid back, and super nice. Surprising in some ways given the future he has in front of him, but also refreshing, because you know that if he’s not affected at this point, chances are he’ll still be that same friendly guy when all is said and done.
Signed to Sony/ATV Music publishers in both a Production and Songwriting deal a little over a year ago, Ryan continues to show up everyday eager to write the best material of his career. It’s clear that Sony/ATV has a strong belief in Tyndell and who would argue? With songs like “Waiting on an Angel”, “Melt In Your Memory”, and “Beautiful Lie”, Tyndell are well on their way to the broad commercial appeal that many in the Nashville music industry have been hoping to find. The well deserved record deal and accolades from Country music fans can’t be far behind.
If you want a glimpse of a future star, Tyndell performs at Douglas Corner on Aug. 31st at 9pm.
I recently had the opportunity to interview Ryan as he finished another long day in his office writing songs.

Stacy Jagger

Wow! Stacy Jagger is really (and I mean REALLY) good. Her sound is organic. Soulful. She’s right in her bio to credit Mindy Smith as a sound not unlike her own, but I think there’s more depth to Stacy’s songs (no slight to Mindy who I love).
Like most artists in and around Nashville, Stacy contacted us. Unlike most artists who contact us - she really stood out both musically and vocally. Not to mention, her story is, well, interesting!
When so many bio’s have the obligatory “I started singing at 2 years old”, Stacy’s has;
“…living a frontier home life in an 1850’s cabin out in the Tennessee countryside. “I wasn’t poor,” Jagger says, “I was just living in a non-electric cabin taking showers in a converted milk trough, pumping well water for cooking, and stoking fires in the middle of the night to keep warm.”
So when I had a chance to showcase Stacy on site - the hardest part was deciding what to do with her. I decided I wanted to know more and thought that the readers of this site would as well. Enjoy.
